Novant Health Invests $500,000 to Advance UNC Charlotte Nursing and Workforce Innovation
Novant Health is investing $500,000 in UNC Charlotte to expand experiential learning, advance healthcare workforce innovation, and support faculty and staff well-being.
The funds will directly enhance the College of Health and Human Services’ 15 state-of-the-art nursing labs, which feature 37 human patient simulators and recently earned endorsement from the International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation and Learning. Beyond upgrading student clinical training, the gift will fund advanced simulation certifications for faculty and expand campuswide wellness and retention initiatives. With nearly half of UNC Charlotte nursing graduates staying to practice in the Charlotte area, this strategic partnership directly strengthens the region’s healthcare pipeline.
“By equipping nursing students with leading-edge technology, we are helping prepare compassionate, highly skilled clinicians,” said Chris Bowe, senior vice president and president of Novant Health’s Charlotte region.
