Courtney Cassens, MSN, RNC-OB

Courtney received her Masters in Nursing Education in 2023 after discovering her love for teaching while orienting new nurses. She obtained her MSN from Western Governors University and her BSN from the University of Iowa. She is passionate about women’s health and improving maternal/newborn quality of life in the United States. She maintains a position on a labor, delivery, and postpartum (LDRP) unit providing maternal and newborn care while not at the School of Nursing. She is currently a member of the International Nursing Association of Clinical Simulation and Learning (INACSL), a member of the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric, and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN), and a member of the National League of Nursing. 

Research interests include reducing maternal and neonatal morbidity and mortality in the United States, specifically targeting racial disparities in maternal and newborn health.
