Jhordin James C. Montegrico, PhD, RN, CMSRN

Dr. James Montegrico, PhD, RN, CMSRN is an Assistant Professor in the School of Nursing. He currently serves as an Honors Faculty and the Academic Success Program Coordinator of the School of Nursing. He is a Certified Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse by the Academy of Medical-Surgical Nurses. His research interests include assessment in nursing education and nursing workforce development, with a special focus on NCLEX and international nursing, and HIV/AIDS prevention and management. He has authored and co-authored several publications in various international nursing and health-related journals and presented his research in local, regional, national, and international conferences. He is a peer reviewer of several international nursing journals and has served as a chapter reviewer of two core curriculum textbooks in nursing.

With an extensive 28-year career in nursing academia in the Philippines and the USA, Dr. Montegrico has taught at different levels of nursing programs (associate, bachelor, and master’s), supervised doctoral students’ scholarship projects, and held teaching and leadership positions such as instructor, lead faculty, college coordinator, and dean. He is actively involved in numerous local, national, and international nursing organizations.
