Abstract: The purpose of this project was to develop and evaluate engaging short videos that provide content for health nutrition information in adolescent pregnant women for a widely viewed internet platform: TikTok. Nutrition is a key component of health maintenance in any pregnancy, and, in adolescent pregnancies, specific risk factors exist related to nutrition. Those risks include increased intake of fast food, foods with high sugar and fat, and a decrease in intake of micronutrients. The current population of those with potential to be a pregnant adolescent are internet natives, therefore interventions to increase health knowledge may be more successful if they utilize digital methods of information sharing. A TikTok search for videos containing nutrition information for the adolescent pregnant population yielded no results. The first phase of the project was to develop five TikTok videos that included topics identified in literature to have a significant impact on adolescent nutrition and health. The second phase required participants found through convenience sampling to view the 5 videos. A Qualtrics survey requested participants to provide feedback regarding quality, enjoyment, and accessibility of the videos to guide future revision. 34.43% (n = 12) of participants reported using Instagram as a social media outlet, and 27.03% (n = 10) use TikTok. 100% of participants (n = 17) reported that the information presented in the videos was easy to understand, but when asked the likelihood to stay and watch them if found on the internet, 29.41% (n = 5) stated they were somewhat unlikely to stay and watch. The TikTok videos were likable, though in future endeavors, adjustments may be made to increase likelihood to share, and different platforms may be used to reach a wider audience.
