Teresa Cronell, EdD, MSN, RN, CCRN

Dr. Cronell, EdD, MSN, RN, CCRN has been an RN for over 30 years, spending most of her professional career in the adult medical intensive care unit. Cronell is an experienced nurse educator, including professional development of practicing nurses for many years and over a decade in the education of prelicensure nursing students. Her teaching experience includes staff development, nursing instructor in an associate degree nursing program, and an assistant professor in an accelerated baccalaureate nursing program.

Prior to moving back to full time nursing education in 2018, she was Lead Ambassador in Virtual Critical Care services and an e-mentor for new graduates in intensive care units for a large healthcare system. Besides critical care, her background includes urgent care, hospital nursing supervision, medical-surgical nursing, and an outpatient dialysis facility clinic manager.

Cronell is certified in critical care nursing and a national member of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN) in addition to being an active member of Piedmont Carolinas chapter of AACN, where she previously served as a board member and an education symposium planner. She is a member of Sigma (formerly Sigma Theta Tau International), the National Society of Leadership and Success (Walden University) and the Society for Collegiate Leadership and Achievement (University of South Carolina).

Dr. Cronell is a passionate advocate for inclusive excellence in nursing education and professional practice.  She firmly believes that mentoring and modeling engagement that welcomes all is vital in supporting a nursing program that will match our ever increasingly diverse community.
