Barry McClernon, RN

Barry McClernon is originally from Brooklyn, NY, and earned his BSN from Rasmussen University in Ft. Myers, Florida. His nursing career includes experience in a variety of settings, including ICU, correctional nursing, long-term care, and rehabilitation nursing at a dual diagnosis mental health/substance abuse center. Before relocating to Charlotte, he served as a full-time instructor (both didactic and practicum) at a nursing school in Naples, Florida.

Barry’s wife, Barbara, is a pilot for American Airlines and recently transferred from Miami, FL, to Charlotte, NC. They have two children, Charles and Alex, and a French Bulldog named Bruno. Barry looks forward to getting to know and assisting the students and staff at UNC Charlotte during the upcoming school year.
