Mandy Tarantino Bost, DNP, APRN, CPNP-PC, CNE

Dr. Bost began her nursing career with clinical experience in Labor and Delivery and Pediatrics. For more than two decades, she has practiced as a pediatric nurse practitioner in both neurology and primary care.

Dr. Bost is dedicated to excellence in nursing education. She holds the designation of Certified Nurse Educator through the National League for Nursing, demonstrating her commitment to effective teaching and student development.

Prior to joining UNC Charlotte as a full-time faculty member, Dr. Bost served as an adjunct graduate faculty member and clinical instructor at UNC Charlotte. She also worked as a lecturer and course coordinator at Cabarrus College of Health Sciences. For over ten years, she has been actively involved in teaching and precepting nursing students at multiple stages of their education.

Dr. Bost’s professional work also extends internationally. She has been involved in global healthcare initiatives for more than nine years, serving communities in Belize and Nicaragua.

AREAS OF RESEARCH

Bost’s scholarship focuses on a range of pediatric and adolescent health topics. She has published on issues including adolescent marijuana use and prevention, adolescent inhalant abuse, parental vaccine refusal, the use of Topiramate for childhood movement disorders, attention and processing cues for target identification, and perceptions of success based on appearance.

Her current research interests include adolescent resilience and substance use prevention.
