UNC Charlotte School of Nursing Secures $2.4 Million for Growth and Innovation
The UNC Charlotte School of Nursing (SON) received $2,457,435 from the UNC System Office to expand and enroll more nursing students. This funding results from the NC legislature’s efforts to increase nursing degree completions throughout North Carolina.
The SON plans to introduce an accelerated second-degree option for students who have already completed a non-nursing degree (pending NC Board of Nursing approval) and expand enrollment in the Family Nurse Practitioner program. We are excited to be able to graduate more NinerNurses to meet the healthcare needs of North Carolinians!
The funding will support new faculty hires, academic support specialists, simulation technicians, and expansions in technology and spaces in the Nursing Simulation Laboratory to accommodate the increased enrollment.
