UNC Charlotte SON Faculty Make Global Impact at International Conferences

This summer, Dr. James Montegrico represented the UNC Charlotte School of Nursing at the 35th Sigma International Nursing Research Congress in Singapore. During the event, Dr. Montegrico participated in critical discussions with global leaders, contributing to the ongoing dialogue on advancements in nursing.

In the Philippines, Dr. Montegrico delivered impactful presentations across multiple professional engagements. He led a faculty development workshop on Test Construction and Item Analysis at the Medical Colleges of Northern Philippines and conducted a seminar on AI in healthcare and research proposal development at the Cagayan Valley Medical Center. Additionally, he facilitated a round table discussion with Deans and nursing faculty from the Cordilleras schools of nursing, focusing on the future of nursing education.

Dr. Montegrico’s expertise was further highlighted at the national midyear conference of the Nurse Educators and Practitioners Guild, Inc., where he served as a keynote speaker, facilitated a research publication writing workshop, and presented two research studies. His roles as Director of the Department of Research and Chair of the conference’s Scientific Program Committee underscore his leadership in nursing research and education.

Dr. Charlene Whitaker-Brown also attended the Sigma Congress in Singapore, representing UNC Charlotte alongside Dr. Montegrico. Their participation in these international events not only reflects their professional contributions but also strengthens the global presence of the UNC Charlotte School of Nursing.
