The UNC Charlotte School of Nursing is proud to announce that Susan McLennon PhD, ANP-BC, CNE, Director of the School of Nursing, has recently been appointed to two distinguished positions at the national level, reflecting her ongoing commitment to advancing nursing education, leadership, and geriatric care.

Dr. McLennon has been named an Associate Editor of Geriatric Nursing, a peer-reviewed journal recognized for its contributions to evidence-based clinical information and innovative practices in the care of older adults. Geriatric Nursing serves as a resource for nursing professionals who work with aging populations, providing research, commentary, and insights that help shape the future of geriatric care. As Associate Editor, Dr. McLennon will play a key role in guiding the journal’s editorial direction and ensuring the dissemination of high-quality scholarship that informs both practice and policy.

In addition to her editorial appointment, Dr. McLennon has also been named Secretary of the Steering Committee for the Organizational Leadership Network (OLN), a leadership initiative under the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN). The OLN supports academic nursing leaders across the country by fostering collaboration, innovation, and strategic guidance on operational and organizational matters within schools of nursing. As Secretary, Dr. McLennon will contribute to setting priorities for the network and supporting its mission to strengthen leadership in nursing education.

These appointments recognize Dr. McLennon’s outstanding leadership and scholarship in the field of nursing. Her dual roles will not only elevate the visibility of UNC Charlotte’s School of Nursing but also contribute meaningfully to national conversations on geriatric health and academic leadership in nursing.
