Dr. Susan McLennon Named Distinguished Fellow of the National Academies of Practice

Susan McLennon, PhD, ANP-BC, CNE, director of UNC Charlotte’s School of Nursing, has been named a Distinguished Fellow of the Nursing Academy within the National Academies of Practice (NAP). The National Academies of Practice is an interdisciplinary organization that brings together leading health professionals committed to fostering collaboration and transforming interprofessional healthcare.

Selection as a Distinguished Fellow (FNAP) is one of the highest professional honors awarded by NAP. Fellows are selected based on their significant contributions to their field and their dedication to collaboration across health professions, aiming to improve patient-centered care. This honor highlights Dr. McLennon’s achievements, leadership, and commitment to advancing interprofessional care in nursing and healthcare.

Dr. McLennon will be formally inducted into the Class of 2026 during the NAP Annual Meeting and Forum, to be held in Indianapolis, Indiana, in March 2026. The induction ceremony and awards banquet will take place on Saturday, March 14, where she will receive the organization’s distinctive medallion and the right to use the FNAP credential.
