School of Nursing Faculty Continue to Shape Sigma Leadership with Region 13 Transition

The UNC Charlotte School of Nursing proudly recognizes the exceptional leadership of Dr. Judith Cornelius, who is concluding her four-year term as the Region 13 Coordinator for Sigma, and congratulates Dr. Charlene Whitaker-Brown, who will now step into this distinguished role.

Honoring Dr. Judith Cornelius’ Service

Dr. Cornelius’ tenure as Region 13 Coordinator has been marked by impactful initiatives, strengthened chapter operations, and a deep commitment to advancing Sigma’s mission of scholarship, leadership, research, and service. She expressed full confidence in the region’s continued growth under new leadership, adding, “It gives me great pleasure to welcome Dr. Whitaker-Brown as the incoming Region 13 Coordinator. Dr. Whitaker-Brown, a respected faculty member in the School of Nursing, begins her term with enthusiasm and a clear vision for supporting leaders and chapters across North America Region 13.

“It is an honor to begin my role as the new Regional Coordinator,” she shared. “Our region thrives because of leaders who invest their time, talent, and passion into strengthening their chapters and empowering one another. As your Regional Coordinator, I am here to champion your work and ensure you have the guidance and resources needed to thrive.”

Dr. Whitaker-Brown outlined her commitment to mentorship, collaboration, and chapter development, noting that she aims to:
