Michael Armiger MBA, MSN, RN

RN-to-BSN Coordinator, Lecturer
School of Nursing

Michael Armiger MBA, MSN, RN joined The University of North Carolina at Charlotte’s School of Nursing in January 2023 after one year of retirement. His background is quite different from that of his colleagues. Prior to “retirement,” Armiger was employed in the area of ventricular assist devices (VADs) in a variety of roles, all involving education of physicians, nurses, staff, patients, and their family members. As a Registered Nurse, he has experience in emergency, trauma, cardiac transplant, mechanical circulatory support, management, sales, and education. Michael Armiger has had the distinct honor of practicing in a number of countries, supporting hospitals and patients with VADs.

What enhances his passion for education is when he can “see” the lightbulb illuminate in the learner’s eyes. Sharing his many years of experience through stories involves students at a deeper level and hopefully highlights the breadth of nursing as a profession. Opportunities are endless as a nurse, so Armiger encourages his students to keep their minds open and learn how best to illustrate their skillset.
