School of Nursing Alumni Council

UNC Charlotte’s School of Nursing Alumni Council encourages alumni participation within the University to strengthen the community of future nurse leaders. The council meets quarterly, holds events throughout the year, and recognizes graduates with a Distinguished Alumni Award.

School of Nursing Distinguished Alumni Award

Selected by the School of Nursing Alumni Council, the School of Nursing Distinguished Alumni Award recognizes alumni of the UNC Charlotte School of Nursing who have demonstrated leadership, outstanding career achievements, and enhanced the mission of the University and/or School.

Nominations for the 2026 School of Nursing Distinguished Alumni Awards are now open. 

All alumni of the School of Nursing are eligible for an award; however, a person must be nominated to receive consideration.

Supporting materials are required for the nomination to be complete, and must be submitted by the final deadline of May 31, 2026.

To be considered, nominations must include the following supporting materials:

1. Nomination form submission
2. Nominee’s resume
3. One letter of recommendation
4. Two supporting documents. Supporting documents could be publications, feature articles on nominee, media coverages, speaking engagements, or similar materials that highlight why your nominee is deserving of an award.

The most successful nomination packets typically include:

1. Nomination form submission
2. Nominee’s resume
3. Two to three letters of recommendation
4. Three to five supporting documents. Supporting documents could be publications, feature articles on nominee, media coverages, speaking engagements, or similar materials that highlight why your nominee is deserving of an award.

All supporting materials should be attached to this nomination form. If you have additional documents or support you would like to add at a later time, you may send them to April Baynes by the deadline of May 31, 2026.
